Thelma S. Johnston, through faith in Jesus Christ, was transformed to the Kingdom of Heaven on June 23, 2020. Thelma was born on April 6, 1928 to Frank & Isabel Smith in English Creek, NJ. Her family moved to Pedricktown, NJ in 1933 when her father began working at DuPont Chambers Works. Thelma married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Johnston, and together they operated a farm in Carney's Point for 75 years. In addition to her work on the family farm, Thelma began work at a local bank in 1958. She worked continuously in banking with eventual retirement as assistant manager at Pedricktown National Bank in 1988. Thelma was active in local church activities and served 16 years as treasurer of Park Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening and attending gospel concerts with Clarence. Thelma is survived by her husband Clarence, sons, James (Gloria), John (Lynne) and Bruce (Sandra) as well as seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown at 11 AM. www.adamsfuneralhome.org
