He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and he most recently worked as a truck driver for SJ Transportation in Woodstown. Melvin is survived by his children Bryce Faris of Pennsville, Bryan Faris (Tammy Smith) of Pennsville, Brady Faris (Angelique Hadry) of Pedricktown and Brooke Faris (Justin Graham) of Elmer; his grandchildren Trevor, Haylie, Allison, Brandon, Alexandra, Keilian and Freya; his siblings Duane Faris (Donna), Wesley Faris and Donna Rubio (Marshall); his brother in law Robert Fleckenstein; and many nieces, nephews great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Lois Fleckenstein and Dorothy Faris.
