Mary DiPaolo

Maria “Mary” DiPaolo passed away on February 8, 2021. Born in Italy, Mary was one of eleven children born to Giuseppe & Vincenza DiFilipantonio DiMarco. With the support of her family, Mary came to the United States at the age of twenty. Prior to coming, she had seen a photo of Albert DiPaolo and within four months of coming they were married. And so, began a lifelong journey filled with love, friendship, hard work and success. Early on, she had worked for both sewing factories in Penns Grove, Wolf’s and Link’s, but eventually the two of them started the Italian Kitchen. Through their sweat and tears, the business became a success of which their children and grandchildren still enjoy today. Mary loved people and the Kitchen served as a perfect setting for her to share her two passions, cooking for and serving others. Whether you walked in during the early days or when it became known as Dipaolo’s you will remember being greeted with her saying “here comes my movie star!” Over the years, she was also a member of the Mother of Grace Society and the Washington Club. For her children, Marianne and Michael, the grandchildren, and great grandchildren, she showed them how hard work and determination pays off as well as how important it is to be compassionate, understanding, loving, and most important forgiving! Mary is survived by her two children, Michael and Marianne and her husband Gino DiMarco: grandchildren, Bernie DiMarco, Albert DiMarco, Michael DiPaolo, Gino DiMarco, Dana Inqui, Anthony DiPaolo and Gina Wilson as well as sixteen great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her husband Albert as well as all ten of her siblings predeceased her. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 11 until 1 PM at the Parish Hall of St. Gabriel the Archangel, 369 Georgetown Rd., Carneys Point NJ 08069 with Mass to follow at 1 PM in the sanctuary of the church. Interment will take place at Eglington Cemetery following the mass. The family has suggested that donations be given to St. Gabriel the Archangel RC Church. Due to Covid we are asking that if you plan to attend the viewing please wear your mask and remember to social distance. Also, after you have had a chance to see the family please exit the hall. As mentioned mass will begin roughly around 1:15 or so which you are welcome to attend as well. However, the daily scheduled mass at the church goes from 12 PM until 1 PM so please enter the church after that mass ends. If you have any questions please call us 769-2220, thanks Marc
