Joseph A. Winkelspecht “Wink", 67, resident of Pedricktown passed away on January 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born and raised in Woodbury by Joseph B. and Mary Winkelspecht (nee Sacca). He graduated from Gloucester Catholic in 1972 and began working at DuPont Chambers Works in 1973. In 1974, he married the love of his life, Deborah Zee and had four children Michelle Merendino (Andy), Maureen Bevis (Brian), Jennifer Reed (James), and Joey Winkelspecht (Lauren). His 14 grandchildren were the apple of his eye - Ashlee, Anthony, Matthew, Zachary, Vincent, Aubree, Madison, Allyson, Carter, Alexis, McKenzie, and Joseph P. After 39 years of service, Joe retired in 2012 as the Chief of the Chambers Works Fire and Emergency Response Department. He built many friendships along the way. After retirement, he never slowed down. Being a devoted family man, he would go out of his way to help his kids and grandkids. He never missed an event, especially sports, that involved his grandkids. Anywhere he went, you could hear someone say, “Hey Wink!” One of his greatest joys was fishing off of the dock and spending time with his family on their annual trip to Virginia Beach. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph B. and Mary, his sister and brother-in-law Rosemary and Frank Chapman, and his two grandchildren Mary and Jack. Friends may greet the family Friday night, January 28, 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM and Saturday morning, January 29, 2022 from 9 AM to 10 AM in the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098. And a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 369 Georgetown Road, Carneys Point, NJ 08069.
