John Kenneth Wilson Sr.

John Kenneth Wilson, Sr., age 70, of Pittsgrove Township, passed away on April 10, 2022. Born in York, PA to the late James Matthew Wilson and Gabrielle (Macaux) Wilson, John grew up in Oaklyn, NJ and was a 1969 graduate of Collingswood High School. He went on to earn his Bachelors Degree from Rutgers-Camden in 1973 and began his 28 year career as a New Jersey State Trooper, graduating from the 90th State Police Class. In 1980, John and his wife Donna moved to Pittsgrove to start their family and he worked at various State Police barracks until he was stationed at the State Police Headquarters in Trenton, working his way up to Lieutenant. After retiring from the state Police, he went on to work for twelve years as Vice President of Global Security and Investigations at Commerce Bank, which became TD Bank. When John wasn't working, his spare time was committed to his children and their various sporting events, coaching soccer, baseball and softball. He was heavily involved with Elmer Little League, where he also served as Commissioner, the Pittsgrove Soccer Club and was a member of the Recreation Advisory Committee in Pittsgrove. John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Donna (Deleandro) Wilson; his daughter Jennifer Wilson Shortridge and her husband Wesley of York, SC; his son John Kenneth Wilson, Jr. and his wife Jackie of Millsboro, DE; his grandchildren Bryce and Max Shortridge; his granddogs; his brother James Wilson and his wife Mary Jean of Audubon, NJ; his sister Nicole Ritchie and her husband Mike of Mount Laurel, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Adams Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Elmer, NJ 08318. There will be a visitation starting at 10 AM leading to the service at 11 AM.
