John William Walton 2nd, age 76, of Clayton, NJ passed away on February 6, 2022. Born in Wayne, PA to the late John William and Dorothy (Bailey) Walton, John grew up in Elk Township, NJ and was a 1963 graduate of Delsea High School. John served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 as a Drill Sergeant. Over the years, he worked as the owner and operator of Glassboro Auto Parts. Upon retirement from the parts store, John truly enjoyed driving a school bus for the Harrison Township School District. He served as a councilman in clayton and he attended the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church in Daretown. John loved to golf, watch NASCAR and going to the Sprint Car Races with his nephews. John is survived by his loving wife Dianne (Whelan) Walton; his son Chris Walton of Queens, NY; his siblings Dotty Hitchner of Bridgeton, Joan Munyan of Elk Township, Jennett Harbison-Stanley and her husband Stan of Elk Township and Bob Walton and his wife Sue of Clarksboro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Nancy McCann. Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, 312 Daretown Road, Elmer, NJ 08318. There will be a visitation starting at 10 AM leading to the memorial service at 11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in John's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation online at www.parkinson.org.
