James Mulligan, 94, of Carneys Point passed away on January 10, 2022; husband of the late Katherine Grace (neé Knapp) Mulligan. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, James was the son of Michael M. & Gertrude A. (neé Barnecut) Mulligan. James joined the U.S. Army in 1946, serving in Japan after their surrender of World War II. Later on in life, James became an educator for the Woodstown School District, he taught at the high school and middle school for 25 years. Along with being an educator, James worked for the Resorts Casino. James was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Sports games, the Eagles and the Phillies, with all nineteen of his loving grandchildren. James was an avid horse racing fan, an active member of the St. Gabriel’s Parish, and had a love for being in the outdoors. Remembered lovingly by his sons Michael M. Mulligan (Katie) and Timothy T. Mulligan (Suncha); his daughters Patricia M. Mulligan, Katherine G. Mulligan Huynh (Trac), Mary Marjorie Elliot (Mark); his daughter in-law Lisa G. Mulligan, his sister in-laws Penny Mulligan, Judy Lambert, Elma Knapp, and Betty Haggerty; and his nineteen grandchildren. James was preceded by his wife Katherine Grace (neé Knapp) Mulligan; his son James (Jesse) F. Mulligan; his parents Michael M. & Gertrude A. Mulligan; his brothers Michael M. Mulligan and Thomas Mulligan; his sisters Alice M. Mulligan and Patricia A. Mulligan. Services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Corpus Christi Church. Viewing will be held in the Parish Hall from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM in the Church. Internment in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington Delaware on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 12 noon.
