Elsie Mae Matteson, 84, of Penns Grove passed away on February 12, 2022, while living in Millsboro, DE with her daughter. Born in Penns Grove, Elsie was the daughter of Basil & Grace Dunk Combs. She was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church in Penns Grove, drove a school bus for St. James, was a member of the Rebekahs Odd Fellows and a Matron of the Penns Grove Carneys Point Police Department as well as a driver for the Salem County Meals on Wheels. She was predeceased by her husband of forty years, Robert L. Matteson and is survived by her children, Donna L. Pollitt and her husband Douglas and Arthur Matteson and his wife Stacey; a granddaughter, Kristina Breeden (Al) and two great grandchildren, Kayley, and Abel Breeden; her sister, Helen Ellis as well as all of her granddaughter’s friends who adopted her as their Mom Mom. Services will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad St., Woodstown, NJ 08098. The viewing will begin at 10 AM with the service following at 11AM. Burial will take place at Eglington Cemetery.
