Doris E. Williams

Doris E. Williams, age 93, of Pilesgrove passed away on January 13, 2022. Born at the old hospital in Salem, NJ, Doris was a 1948 graduate of Woodstown High School where she played basketball and field hockey, winning the Tri-County Championship in 1947. She was a room mother for her daughters Carol and Diane from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade. Over the years, Doris worked for the Woodstown National Bank. She also worked at the ticket booth for the Cowtown Rodeo, was a member of the Woodstown Jaycees and the Woodstown / Pilesgrove Historical Society and was very involved with the Woodstown Masonic Lodge suppers. Doris loved and was extremely proud of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who meant the world to her. Doris is survived by her daughters Diane Gregory and her husband Melvin and Carol Bowling and her husband Jeff; her grandchildren Rob Gregory and his wife Susan, Jamie Connor and her husband Brian, Jeffrey Bowling Jr. and his wife Stephanie and Kimberly Bowling (Evan Briggs); her great grandchildren Ryanne and Rowan Connor, Robby Gregory and Corey Bowling; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Floyd and Bertha (Butcher) Hitchner, her husband Robert Williams and her sisters Norma Remster and Sherry Massey. There will be a public visitation on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098 from 10 AM to 11 AM. The funeral service and burial will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Doris' memory to the Reliance Fire Company, 25 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098.
