With his family by his side, Benny A. Sorbello, 91, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022. Born in West Deptford, Benny was the son of Alfio & Alfia Bonaccorso Sorbello. Benny had a passion for the land, and he loved farming. With the beginning of each new season, he looked forward to the renewed excitement and energy of farming his land. He was the owner of Hillside Orchards and years ago when he had the greenhouses and the roadside stand, he looked forward to opening and working both. A member of the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit RC Church, Benny loved volunteering and helping Father Ed with the chicken barbeques. Furthermore, one of his hobbies, which he was extremely passionate about, was restoring and fixing old tractors as well as anything else he got his hands on! However, what Benny enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and friends. He knew a lot of people and made friends wherever he went. Benny’s easy-going personality, ability to talk too and relate to attracted everyone to him no matter their age or circumstances in life. Like most fathers he worked hard and served as the perfect role model for his children. Teaching them the values of right and wrong, instilling a good work ethic, how important it was to spend time with family and fostering your faith. He is survived by his wife Jeanne (nee: Pratta); his children, Fred Sorbello, Frank Sorbello and his wife Jennifer, Benny Sorbello and his wife Sarah and Maria Sorbello Lucas and her husband Brian; his grandchildren, Drew, Andrea, Cole and Bella as well as two siblings, Frances Passeri and Alfina Rainear. His wife Mary (Musumeci), and siblings Samuel Sorbello, Joseph Sorbello and Anna Cocove predeceased him. A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad St., Woodstown, NJ 08098 from 4 until 7 PM. On Monday morning, March 21, 2022 all services will be held at the Woodstown Parish Center of the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit, 2 Lamplighter Dr., Woodstown, NJ.
