History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

The year was 1957, and Dwight Eisenhower our president, when William Adams founded Adams Funeral Home. Having graduated from Eckels College of Morturay Science, and completed his internship, Bill decided to open his own funeral home. He and his wife Natalie bought a piece of property on South Broad Street in Penns Grove and built their first funeral home. They where at that site until 1988 when they moved to their current location at 18 East Maple Avenue. Over the years, they built their reputation by being very caring and compassionate as well as providing a professional service. However, what was most important to them was treating each family as their own. This way on being continues to be our hallmark today. We feel both honored and priviledged in serving every family that comes to us..

In 1980, after having worked for the previous owner, William bought Christy Funeral Home in Elmer and named it Christy-Adams Funeral home to symbolize the friendship and partnership these two funeral directors had for years.

In 1998, William's youngest son Marc, a Marriage and Family Counselor by profession, decided to join the family business. He completed his Mortuary Science degree and became a NJ licensed Funeral Director in 2001. Since then he has managed both locations of the Adams Funeral Home, as the business is named today.
